What is NewsBIN?
In Spring 2022, I had the opportunity to participate in NewsBIN, a subset of the Capital News Service, for my capstone project. At the University of Maryland, many students participate in capstone programs, which is essentially an in-school internship. At NewsBIN, we focus on broadcast innovation. This could involve documentary projects, podcasts, branching videos, animation, or 360 videos. In this program, we also crew on other student's videos, make vlogs, and/or head up our own projects.

So what was my project?
I chose to focus my project around taking 360 video, which records the entire scene around you like virtual reality. The place I wanted to center this around was the abandoned mill town of Daniels, Maryland because of its rich scenery and remaining architecture.
