Below are some samples of my audio work. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed putting them together!
Offbeat by the Diamondback

From August 2022 to May 2023 I was editor of Offbeat where I wrote the script and edited together all of the interviews and audio clips into full episodes. I also did some reporting and hosting for the episodes.

Pretty in Ink

This story centers around a women-owned tattoo shop that clawed its way through the pandemic to ensure people could have a more comfortable, less intimidating, place to get tattooed.

Brenda Frese Stays a Terp

This is a part of a larger newscast where I reported on Brenda Frese signing back on as the women's basketball team head coach.

Daniels: A Ghost Town

In this piece I explore the abandoned mill town of Daniels, Maryland. It was once an industrial hub in the late 1800s but is now a seldom used hiking trail.

Newscast

To prepare our class for quick deadlines, our professor created a mock newscast for us. We had only two hours to report on five stories and edit them into a five minute newscast. I was the editor, and by the time all the stories were gathered I had about 30 minutes to put it together. While the newscast wasn't perfect, I learned about where the real news in a story is. We totally buried the lead by not putting the homicide story first, but it prepared me to put out better products in the future.

Teach Me: Garbage Soup

For this assignment we were asked to create a tutorial to teach our professor something. I chose a family trade secret: garbage soup. It was fun to play around with audio outside of a news story, and I quickly learned which sounds are great and which are much less pleasing.
